Why did I do this?

I don’t really like the traditional ‘send-a-resume and hope for a response’ way of applying for an internship. To whom it may concern? Nah. Anyways, to give you some context, I‘m a twenty year old designer and developer in my last year at University of Malta. I’m reading for a degree in BsC(Hons) Business and Information Technology. Important sounding degree ain’t it?

While I’m good at building the front-end of products, I consider myself more of a designer who can code. I really want a platform to grow, a place where I can solve real problems, to find out what I’m good at, in an office that’s full of like minded people who want to build and ship great purposeful work. A place like BRND WGN looks like a great place to do this :)

I’ve dabbled in different areas like web design, development, user experience design and some illustration, in my spare time. I don’t have a wealth of projects I can show you, which I’m a bit bummed about but here’s some stuff that I published on my porfolio. I consider myself adaptable so I’m pretty much open to learning anything that can further me as an indivudal.

TLDR;

I like web stuff, UX and design and I’d jump at the chance to be a wagoneer to do great work for great brands that do awesome stuff.

What can I do?

website illustration

I design websites with a user-centric mindset and a focus on experience as well as the task at hand.

development illustration

Not the greatest developer in the world, but I’m learning, everyday, the power of being able to code.

I also follow human interface guidelines set by the likes of Google, Apple and Microsoft to be educated about how I can effectlvely design for those two devices up there.
Designed these nifty little ilustrations as well ;)

I have an idea.

I’m aware you have Fuck it Fridays, which sounds awesome, how about Mad Men Mondays with scotch on tap :P ? Or if you want more productive days, Maker Mondays where BRNDWGN could host hackathons in which any person can participate in. Since their inception, I’ve always believed hackathons benefitted a company immensely. It brings the team, whatever their role might be, together to solve problems and create great stuff. If you already host hackathons, kudos to you guys :)

Summing up.

Anyways, that’s my two cents. I don’t want to take too much of your guys’ time, I’m sure you have a lot of stuff to get to. I’d love to come and chat more about an opportunity if you’re interested obviously. Also, I’m pretty sure I live like 10 minutes away from the office. Thanks for taking the time to read :)
